2018 United Way Day of Caring Sign-up Form

Join the UCSB Team! Santa Barbara County's Annual United Way Day of Caring is coming up on Saturday, September 15, 2018. UCSB volunteers will participate in a project planting native plants as a part of the restoration at UCSB's North Campus Open Space Restoration Project (NCOS) from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

A thank you BBQ and celebration will follow the project at 12:00pm at Oak Park. More information will be provided later.

Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty, bring work gloves and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Gloves, tools, and kneeling pads will be provided however volunteers can also bring their own. Volunteers will learn about plants and their adaptation to the environment and receive a tour of the site and its development. Tasks will include using hand tools to restore salt marsh and adjacent habitat. UCSB hats (donated by the UCSB Campus Store) and Day of Caring volunteer shirts will be provided.

* NOTE: The minimum age to participate/volunteer is 10 years old (with parent) or older. All volunteers must fill out a waiver form. Please print, sign, and return to Suzy Plott at suzyplott@ucsb.edu, mail code 1135 or FAX (805) 893-4729 by Wednesday, September 12th.
