- Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration
The Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CBER), formerly the Museum of Systematics and Ecology (MSE), houses over 100,000 plant and animal specimens in the Herbarium, Vertebrate, Invertebrate Collections and Special Collections. We provide opportunities for K-12 academic preparation through our highly regarded Kids in Nature program and special community education programs including a Monday night Restoration Ecology seminar during the academic year. Public service and professional advising help the Center to fulfill its overall mission of increasing understanding of and preserving biodiversity, and training and educating future scientists to carry out these important activities. We offer occasional tours of the animal, plant and special collections and the restored natural areas we manage on the UCSB campus. Please phone 893-2401 for tour information.

- UCSB Extension
As the continuing education division of UCSB, Extension classes are open to all adults who seek professional and personal development. Courses are offered year-round, with evening and weekend classes designed to fit busy schedules. Classes are located in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. UCSB Extension's instructors are experts in their fields. They are working professionals from the community who bring real-world experience into the classroom. - Extension Short Courses

- Hosford Counseling & Psychological Services Clinic
Psychological assessment, mental health treatment, consultation, and prevention services are offered to residents of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, UCSB faculty, staff, and students at affordable rates. Individual, couple, child, adolescent, and family therapy is provided by graduate student clinicians who are supervised by licensed faculty. A few faculty clinicians also see clients. All services provided on a sliding scale. UCSB students need a referral from the Counseling Center or Student Health.

- Koegel Autism Center
The goal of the Koegel Autism Center is to improve the understanding and treatment of autism. The Center's research and training focuses primarily on family support and on the education of children with autism in regular community environments. In addition to researching the development of treatment delivery systems, the Center offers graduate, undergraduate, professional and paraprofessional training programs that teach state of the art diagnostic and treatment techniques.

- Open Enrollment (formerly Concurrent Enrollment)
The Open Enrollment Program is a cooperative arrangement between the campus and UCSB Extension that enables qualified individuals to enroll in undergraduate and graduate courses on a space available basis without being formally admitted to UCSB. This program is ideal for those who are considering returning to school, preparing to enter UCSB, seeking to complete a few units to graduate, or desiring to take specific UCSB courses for professional reasons. During the summer, community members may register for courses through Summer Sessions.

- Part-Time Degree Programs
Off Campus Studies (OCS) offers part-time degree programs at UCSB's Ventura Center. Participants may complete upper-division credit toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in a variety of disciplines, including Political Science, English, Anthropology, History, Psychology, Sociology, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Law and Society. OCS features a convenient schedule of classes to accommodate working adults.

- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
The UCSB Extension TESOL Programs are designed to prepare adults of all ages to teach English to speakers of other languages in the United States and abroad. The TESOL programs train both new and experienced teachers to effectively utilize the most current methods, materials, research, and resources in a variety of teaching situations. - Tech Management (TM)
UCSB's Tech Management program was designed to meet the standards of today's business world. Tech Management is simultaneously redefining both business and engineering education with a comprehensive curriculum of preparing for the management and founders of tomorrow's technology ventures. From yesterday's successful Center for Entrepreneurship and engineering Management to today's launch of its successor Tech Management (TM), the College of Engineering has sought to be on the cutting edge of entrepreneurial education. TM's curriculum and outreach programs will continue the College's tradition, with cutting edge entrepreneurship lecture series, business plan competition, and leadership events as we build new educational programs for students and the Central Coast Business community.

- Continuing Medical Education
Continuing Medical Education (CME) is an educational activity directly related to patient care, community and public health, and preventative medicine. It is used both by the California Medical Association and the Medical Board of California. The goal of CME is to continually improve the quality of health care. CME programs are offered three Wednesdays a month from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the Student Health Service. The programs are free and open to the public.

- Gevirtz Research Center
Established by former United States Ambassador Don Gevirtz and his wife Marilyn, the Gevirtz Research Center strives to improve the public school system through intensive research and mutually beneficial partnerships. Working closely with the Santa Barbara School District, researchers identify and analyze effective learning methods.

- Research Experience for Teachers (RET)
The Materials Research Laboratory at UCSB sponsors research experience for science teachers who spend six weeks during the summer working in research groups led by MRL researchers. The teachers also meet throughout the academic year and through a second summer to design ways of translating this research experience into classroom science curricula.

- South Coast Writing Project
Funded in 1970 as a site of the California and National Writing Projects, the South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP) is committed to further the development of writing instruction in all disciplines, and at all educational levels (kindergarten through college). In addition to its five week summer workshop, SCWriP also provides curriculum development workshops and follow-up programs.

- Tri-County Mathematics Project (TCMP)
The Tri-County Mathematics Project (TCMP) was established in 1983 to provide professional development and leadership development in mathematics education for educators of grades K-14. TCMP is based at the University of California, Santa Barbara and works with educators and schools in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties, and parts of Los Angeles County.
