UC Santa Barbara Public Affairs and Communications

UCSB Today
Spring 2012

UC Santa Barbara Today is a periodical that chronicles the exciting developments that make this campus one of the country's leading public research universities. Published by the Office of Public Affairs and Communications, the periodical appears two times a year, and is sent to a broad audience of UC Santa Barbara alumni, parents, donors, and other friends and supporters. For members of the UCSB Alumni Association, it complements the association's membership magazine, Coastlines. You can access a PDF version of either the current or a previous issue by clicking a link at right. A more interactive version of the periodical will appear in the future.

The publication is part of an ambitious, multi-year effort being undertaken by the Division of Institutional Advancement, with the strong support of Chancellor Yang, to strengthen alumni and parent engagement with the campus and, in the process, increase private giving to UCSB. The UC Office of the President is helping to fund this effort, as is the Office of the Chancellor. New parent programs, all-class reunions and other alumni activities, improvements to the student caller telephone-solicitation program, and a direct-mail campaign soliciting support for our campus are other components of this project.

We hope that this new approach to telling the dynamic story of UC Santa Barbara — its intellectual vitality and great forward momentum — will resonate with our extended UCSB family.
