The Community Indicators Project is an effort to measure the social, environmental, and economic factors that influence the quality of life on the South Coast. The report on the findings, prepared by the forecast project, covers 80 key social, environmental, and economic indicators for the South Coast. Public health is a special focus for 2002.
Two members of the UCSB Economic Forecast Project will present the findings: Dr. Bill Watkins, executive director, and Amal Bendimerad, economist.
Copies of the printed report will be distributed at the event, which is free and open to the public. Additional information and data on which the report is based will be available at http://www.ucsb-efp.com/.
The Economic Forecast Project is a UCSB research unit that provides information on economic, demographic, and regional business trends to the community.
The presentation of the community indicators for 2002 will take place in the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room on the 4th floor of the County Administrative Offices, 105 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara.
The Santa Barbara South Coast Community Indicators Project is supported by the Cottage Hospital Foundation, County of Santa Barbara, Hutton Foundation, City of Santa Barbara, City of Carpinteria, Santa Barbara County Association of Governments, and the Santa Barbara Region Economic Community Project.
