The State Capitol. The Office of Governmental Relations works to initiate, nurture and sustain relationships with state legislators and other elected officeholders in order to promote and garner public support for the University of California’s teaching, research and public service missions. Relationships are cultivated through legislator-to-campus visits, district office visits, Capitol visits and other special advocate events held in Sacramento. The office also responds to requests for information about our campus from the Governor’s office, legislators and other state offices.

The Governmental Relations office also coordinates the activities of the UCSB Advocacy Network. For more information about our Advocacy Network and how to become an Advocate, please contact the UCSB Office of Governmental Relations at 805-893-2963.
