Office of Event Management and Protocol

We invite applications from motivated students in any discipline desiring to explore career opportunities through internships in event management that include planning, coordination and implementation of campus events. The Office of Event Management and Protocol is a department in the Division of Institutional Advancement and is responsible for a variety of events that promote and support the campus, including Parents and Family Weekend and all commencement exercises.

Students who seek to gain experience in event planning and management can apply for an internship with the Director and the two full-time planners. These unpaid internship positions provide a wide cross section of experience working with faculty, administrators, and staff as well as with community resources. Intern work schedules average between 8 – 10 hours per week. Hours per week may increase during event preparation and implementation, i.e., working evenings or weekends could add 4 – 6 hours. Internships can span from one to three quarters.

To apply: Send an email with a resume to (Gretchen Falvo, Director of Event Management and Protocol). If you have questions, telephone 805/893-3629.
