Many individuals wish to make charitable gifts to UC Santa Barbara at the end of the calendar year in order to obtain 2007 income-tax deductions. The UCSB Development Office stands ready to assist. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have.

Although there are several official university holidays being observed in the last week of the year, Development Office hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, including December 31. Fund-raising staff members can be reached at (805) 893-2600 and are located at 4219 Cheadle Hall.

Hand Delivered Gifts All campus buildings will be locked on December 31. If you wish to deliver your gift in person at that time, please telephone us at (805) 893-2600.

Gifts by U.S. Mail All gifts sent by U.S. mail that are postmarked on or before December 31, 2007 will be receipted as a 2007 gift. Please send to the department address or to: Development Office, MC 2013, UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA 93106-2013.

Gifts by Credit Card In order to receive a 2007 charitable income tax deduction, credit card gifts must be processed against your account in 2007. Please phone in any credit card gifts to (805) 893-2600 before 5:00 p.m. December 31, 2007.

Gifts of Securities Securities gifts require special instructions from the Development Office, and lead time of several days or more. Please call (805) 893-2600 before December 19, 2007, if you would like to give securities.

Online Giving Unrestricted gifts, or gifts to the Annual Fund or Parents Fund can be made through our Web site.

All gifts to UC Santa Barbara should include a signed letter from the donor, or the donor may indicate in the memo section of the check the specific designation of the gift.
