THREE SEPARATE PUBLICATIONS have ranked UCSB among the best universities in the United States and the world.

In its annual listing of the “Top 50 Public National Universities” in the country, U.S. News & World Report ranked UCSB number 9 — a tie with UC Davis. On the magazine’s list of “Best National Universities,” UCSB came in at number 39, again tying with UC Davis. These are the highest rankings ever for UCSB in the U.S. News listings.

In addition, UCSB was ranked number 11 in Washington Monthly’s list of the Top 30 National Universities. UC dominated the 2010 list, with UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, and UCLA ranking 1-2-3. UC Davis was ranked number 6.

Also, Times Higher Education, a British periodical ranked UCSB number 29 in a list of the world’s top 200 universities.
