An estimated 10,000 prospective students and their families will visit UCSB on Saturday, April 10, for Spring Insight, the campus’s annual open house. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., individual departments will present a variety of special activities from faculty lectures to interactions with sea creatures. Other happenings include sustainability programs, athletics displays, and presentations by the College of Letters and Science, College of Creative Studies, and College of Engineering. In addition, nearly 1,000 volunteers from every area of the campus will be on hand to welcome guests and answer questions. At last year’s event, which drew a record number of visitors, political science undergraduate program coordinator Stephen Wiener, above, chatted with an interested student.
