Nine newly tenured UCSB women faculty members were on hand to be honored on Feb. 3 at the annual Women’s Center reception. Chancellor Henry T. Yang, Executive Vice Chancellor Gene Lucas, and center Director De Acker congratulated them. Present were, from left: Deborah Fygenson, physics; Adrienne Edgar, history; Crystal Martin, physics; Susanne Stemmer, materials; Elizabeth Belding-Royer, computer science; Tania Israel, education; Laurie Anne Freeman, political science; and Lisa Jacobson, history. Five others were absent: Ingrid Banks, black studies; Kelly Bedard, economics; Robin Nabi, communication; Elide Oliver, Spanish and Portuguese; and Vesna Wallace, religious studies.
