‘COLLIDE-A-SCOPE’ MURAL UNVEILED

A 70-foot-long riot of colors and shapes has been painted inside QAD’s global corporate headquarters by muralist Alisa Ochoa, UCSB Art Department lecturer, and eight of her students. At 30 feet wide, the mural, fittingly named “Collide-A-Scope,” dominates the room the Summerland-based software firm uses to showcase contemporary art from around the globe. The April 21 unveiling celebrated a process of teamwork as well as the art created, said Ochoa, above. Not shown are undergraduate muralists Nathan Carden, Jennifer Chen-Davis, Kirk Damer, Asad Faulwell, Loren Lacap, Dalyn Matsuguma, Jennifer Phannguyen, and Nicholas Wali.
