Campus Award Nominees Still Welcome

April 18 is the deadline to nominate individuals and/or offices for recognition of their “extraordinary commitment to the general growth and development of students and the quality of student life.” That is the standard for those who will receive the Margaret T. Getman and William J. Villa Service to Students awards this coming June 2.
The Villa awards are for qualifying departments as well as individual staff and faculty members. Nominations forms are available at <www.sa.ucsb.edu/getman> as well as various offices, and must be returned to the Office of Student Life by 5 p.m. today. This site also lists previous winners who are not eligible for nomination.
Questions may be sent to Carolyn Buford (x8749) or Michael Jackson (x5085).
Other award nominations sought include the 2004-05 Activities Awards for individuals and organizations. While students and student groups are the main focus of these awards, the Office of Student Life honors outstanding organization advisers, staff or faculty, and—new this year—gives a Faculty Involvement Award.
Nomination forms are available only on the Web at <www.sa.ucsb.edu/osl/awards/index.aspx> and must be turned in no later than May 9 at 5 p.m.
