A campus ceremony honoring the late Steven Chaffee, professor of communication, is planned for Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. in HSSB 6040, the McCune Conference Room, announced the Communication Department.
The memorial ceremony will "cele-brate Steve's life, his accomplishments, and his kind, generous spirit," said spokesman and fellow professor Dale Kunkel. "Everyone who knew Steve is welcome."
People who wish to share comments or remembrances about Chaffee are encouraged to submit them by Friday, Sept. 28, to Mike Yao via e-mail at zyao00@umail.ucsb.edu or by surface mail to: Dept. of Communication, Santa Barbara, CA 93106. These will be compiled into a book for the family.
