Staff Celebration Week to Begin on Friday, May 11

STAFF CELEBRATION WEEK is set for May 11-18, when a variety of activities will honor staff members for their hard work and dedication to the campus. Among the events are the Chancellor's Luncheon, at which 10 Staff Citation of Excellence Awards will be presented; the Staff Ice Cream Social, hosted by Staff Assembly; the Staff Cookie Contest; a Staff Social and Crafts Bazaar; and a variety of campus tours
        The annual event kicks off on Friday, May 11, with the Chancellor's Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Faculty Club Green. The Celebration Week Drawing will begin at 12:40 p.m. Also set for 11:30 a.m. on the Faculty Club Green are the UCSB Recreation Pottery Sale and the Devereux Greenhouse Plant Sale.
        On Monday, senior administrators, including Chancellor Henry T. Yang, will be serving up scoops at the Staff Assembly Ice Cream Social from noon to 1 p.m. in the Cheadle Courtyard.
        The celebration week continues on Wednesday with the Staff Social and the Arts and Crafts Bazaar on the RecCen Pavilion Lawn, where staff artists will be showing and selling their own work from 3-4 p.m.
        The 8th Annual Staff Cookie Contest will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Health Center Classroom. Bakers who would like to put their favorite cookie recipes to the test should contact Dana Huffman at dana.huffman@sa.ucsb.edu no later than Monday, May 14
        Other Staff Celebration Week events include the Professional Women's Association annual conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, in Corwin Pavilion. The theme is "Wellness for Life."
