Research Lecture Set for
May 21

Peek inside the strangely fascinating world of nanoparticles and quantum physics with David Awschalom, director of the Center for Spintronics and Quantum Computation. As the 2008 Faculty Research Lecturer, the professor of physics and electrical and computer engineering will talk about “Engaging Diamonds in the Quantum Age” on May 21 at 4 p.m. in Kohn Hall’s main seminar room.
The free lecture will explore the phenomenon of spinning electrons and how Awschalom and his team are developing ways, often using diamonds, to control single spins to create new applications in computation and communication.
