UC Accountability Framework Draft Available Online

A draft of the new accountability framework initiated by UC President Mark G. Yudof is now available online for public review and comment.
The draft, presented to the Regents on September 21, is the first attempt to comprehensively assess the University’s progress in meeting key teaching, research, and public service goals across its 10 campuses.
The annual report called for under the framework pulls together 102 different measures of performance in areas such as access and affordability, student success, research impact and funding, faculty diversity and quality, and University finance. The data are presented in ways to highlight trends over time and, wherever possible, compare UC’s performance with that of eight other United States research universities to provide a national context.
The draft report can be found at <www.universityofcalifornia.edu/accountability> for the next four months. Feedback received on the site and from campuses and the Academic Senate will be incorporated into a final version scheduled to be published in May 2009.
