Vendor Fair to Showcase New Travel Program
More than 30 vendors — specifically those who have entered into strategic source agreements with UC — will participate in a Vendor Fair sponsored by UCSB Business Services on Thursday, October 30 in the University Center’s Corwin Pavilion. Highlighting the fair, which begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m., is Connexxus, a UC travel program that will soon be available on campus. The program features a secure Web portal through which travel arrangements can be made online or with assistance from a professional travel agent. Negotiated rates for air travel, hotel accommodations, and car rental make the program flexible and convenient. The vendor exhibition, which will include free product samples, individual and departmental door prizes, and refreshments, is designed to introduce UC’s strategic sourcing vendors to the campus community and to showcase some of the sustainable products and services they offer. By doing business with vendors who have signed strategic source agreements, UC can save as much as 40 percent over products and services from other providers.
Running concurrently with the vendor exhibition will be a series of presentations in the MultiCultural Center on a variety of topics, including new products and programs, strategic sourcing, purchasing office supplies, sustainability, ergonomics, and FlexCard use. In addition, demonstrations of Connexxus will take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m..
