Halloween Parking Plan Announced

Halloween falls on a Friday this year, and on-campus parking will be restricted throughout the entire weekend.
From 5 p.m. on October 31 through 7:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, only current UCSB parking permit holders — student night and weekend parking permit holders excluded — will be allowed to park on campus. UCSB students without a current permit can park in a designated campus lot using a special pre-issued, Halloween pass effective on Halloween and throughout the weekend.
While accommodations will be made for visitors who are attending university-approved or sponsored events, all other on-campus parking is prohibited and vehicles in violation will be subject to fines up to $150 and/or vehicle towing at the owners expense.
Donna Carpenter, vice chancellor for administrative services, encourages departments to notify her office of any events taking place on or around Halloween weekend so valid parking can be made available to participants.
Any department planning an event for that time should contact Jason Ziebarth, guest services manager, at jason.ziebarth@tps.ucsb.edu to arrange for guest parking. Visitor parking permits will not be available from parking lot pay machines from 5 p.m. on Friday, October 31, through 6 a.m. on Saturday, November 1; and from 5 p.m. on Saturday through 6 a.m. on Sunday,
November 2.
As in previous years, the university is placing advertisements in local newspapers to make the community aware of parking restrictions, road closures, D.U.I. checkpoints, and other measures being taken to keep festivities safe and, as much as possible, local.
