Staff Week Ends on High Note

The traditional fare of hot dogs, burgers (meat and meatless), salad, and cookies disappeared onto staff members’ plates at the May 9 Chancellor’s Staff Celebration Barbeque organized by CSAC, the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee. But many participants were also rewarded with prizes drawn by officers of UCSB Staff Assembly and announced by Co-chair Val de Veyre. Kim Summerfield, Staff Assembly’s other co-chair, informed listeners that 43 employees had been nominated for the Citation of Excellence Awards this year. All 10 winners, above, were present to receive their plaques from Chancellor Henry Yang and Vice Chancellor Donna Carpenter. Their checks for $500 were delivered later. Half of the staff members who completed training for the Supervisory Certificate Program were on hand to receive their certificates. They are shown below.
