Helpers Needed for Commencement on
June 8, 13-15

An estimated 4,800 students will graduate from UC Santa Barbara in eight official ceremonies on June 8, 13, 14, and 15. They are expected to draw thousands of family and friends to the campus over Commencement Week.
The Public Events Office is recruiting people to help with everything from student and faculty preparation to book sales and information tents. Call Julie Miller (x7382) or go to <www.ia.ucsb.edu/commencement/2008/staff.shtml> for details, especially about arranging for compensated overtime.
Chancellor Henry T. Yang plans to shake the hand of each student graduating from the College of Creative Studies (CCS), the College of Engineering, the College of Letters and Science, the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, and the Graduate Division.

environmentalist” who works with the Natural Resources Defense Council.
On June 14 and 15 the Faculty Club Green will provide the setting for three ceremonies each day. At 9 a.m. on Saturday the scheduled speaker is Daniel P. Burnham, retired CEO of Raytheon; at 1 p.m. the speaker is Wes Bush, CEO of Northrop Grumman; SAGE Publications founding publisher Sara Miller McCune will speak at 4 p.m.
