| Preliminary 2008 total donations and pledges from UCSB cracked $100,000, as evidenced by the sign from United Way of Santa Barbara County. But this figure does not include the results of special fund raisers this year, such as the student group Hermanos Sonidos’ musical show or Woodstock Pizza’s donations, according to Steve Ortiz, UW director for workplace development. The principals who led the campaign were, from left to right: Paul Didier, president, Santa Barbara County United Way; David Bothman and N.J. Kittle, co-chairs of the campus UW campaign; John Wiemann, vice chancellor, institutional advancement; and Ortiz.
