Rising on former parking lots beside Ocean Road on Main Campus is the L-shaped, state-funded Education and Social Science Building complex (ESSB), far left, and the privately funded Carsey-Wolf Center for Film, Television, and New Media, at right, containing the Pollock Public Film Theatre. The $102 million ESSB and the $10 million-plus center are on schedule for completion in winter 2009, reports project manager Karl Burrelsman. The center hopes to raise another $10 million by then to equip its new building. The pool in the foreground is part of the Old Gym complex.
