| Walter Kohn, research professor of physics and 1998 Nobel Laureate, was feted this month with a symposium on his 85th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his Nobel Prize in chemistry. Joining the well-wishers were Dilling Yang, left, wife of Chancellor Henry Yang, and representatives of energy efficiency and sustainability programs from the campus, local nonprofits, and the City of Santa Barbara. The latter presented an update on their programs to the audience. Kohn responded that he was "proud to be a Santa Barbaran."
