By Nov. 1 of this quarter all new UCSB undergraduate students must complete an online alcohol education course, said Deborah Fleming, associate dean of students. This includes all transfer students and freshmen, and she would like faculty and staff to be aware of the new requirement.

A little nudge to get eligible students to complete their alcohol education by Oct. 15 would qualify those participants for automatic entry in a drawing for “great prizes,” Fleming said. “This new requirement will ensure that our newest undergraduates are exposed to important information about alcohol use among college students, such as the risks and legal consequences.”
