Regents’ Lecturer
Nominations Due
Prince Moulay Hicham, scion of Morocco’s royal family, Mexican presidential candidate Cuauhtemoc Cardenas Solorzano, and statistician Bruno Dupire were all Regents’ Lecturers this past year. Another three positions are expected for 2007-08, says Roman Baratiak, Arts and Lectures manager of the program at UCSB, and he is looking for strong candidates. Regents’ Lecturers come from outside academia and are distinguished people from different walks of life. Lecturers spend two to three days on campus, and give a public presentation, but the residency is flexible. Any academic department may nominate a nonacademic guest. |
