Events and activities are coming together for the annual UCSB Parents’ and Family Weekend, which runs Nov. 4-6. From attending classes on the geography of surfing to talks on graduating in four years, and from tours of the University Art Museum and the Marine Science Institute touch tanks to walking Isla Vista’s “hidden treasures,” visitors will have plenty to do. The registration deadline for the weekend is Friday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. Extra cost events include the National Comedy Theater or the play “bobrauschenbergamerica” on Nov. 4 at the Perfoming Arts Theatre.

Black families, in particular, are invited to a series of social events, tours, and a talent show that showcase the black experience at UCSB. These activities begin with a faculty and staff mixer the evening of Nov. 4 and end with a complimentary continental breakfast at the MultiCultural Center. Advance reservations are requested at x4292.
