Faculty, Staff Award Nominations Due

Nominations for two of UCSB’s highest recognitions for faculty teaching and staff performance—the Academic Senate’s Distinguished Teaching Awards and Staff Assembly’s Staff Citation of Excellence Awards—are now open.
Deadlines for both are this month: Teaching award nominations must be in to the Senate by Friday, Feb. 11; and Staff Assembly asks that all nominations be in by 4 p.m. on Feb. 25.
The Senate will recognize one non-Senate faculty member and up to five Senate members who have taught a minimum of three academic quarters at UCSB. This program also honors teaching assistants (not teaching associates) who have been TAs for at least three quarters.
Further details can be found on the Senate Web site <http://www.senate.ucsb.edu>.
Staff Assembly’s nomination form and instructions can be found at <www.staffassembly.ucsb.edu>. Citation of Excellence Awards, which will be presented at the May 13 Staff Celebration Week Barbecue, require a principal nominator and a separate endorser.
The nomination and a letter of endorsement for each candidate should be sent via campus mail to UCSB Staff Assembly, mail code #8620. Inquiries can be addressed to Greta Halle at halle@psych.ucsb.edu.
