volunteers labored on Sept. 18, United Way’s annual
Day of Caring in Santa Barbara County. Among them were UCSB
students, employees, and their families, like this group that
helped repaint buildings at the Devereux Foundation school
in Isla Vista. They are, from left, Morgan Schaffer, Linda
Ruuska, Meghan Dougherty, and Joyce Rara. Joining them were
Santa Barbara residents Robert Schaffer, SBCC faculty member
Bernie Brennan, and his daughter, Sarah.
