UCSB Housing and Residential Services was chosen as one of four meritorious organizations for the local Green Awards Consortium’s 2004 awards. Water and energy conservation, along with a vigorous recycling program, recently brought the regional honor to, from left, Executive Director Willie Brown, Energy and Environmental Manager Mark Rousseau, and, holding the award, Jackie Treadway, director of residential operations. They are standing beside the Carrillo Dining Commons dishwater recycling systems basin, which has alone reduced the whole building’s water use by 30 to 40 percent, according to Rousseau.
