Article Spotlights Parking Changes
High-tech changes in the campus parking system were the focus
of a recent article in the trade journal Parking Today. The
magazine, which has about 15,000 circulation, tracked the
replacement of staffed kiosks and hand-processed parking permits
with online registration and a solar-powered, 53-unit wireless
network of pay stations. Revenue is up significantly and Transportation
and Parking Services officials project the upgrade will pay
for itself in less than two years, the article said.
