101 Hwy. Traffic Opinions Sought Congestion on the South Coast portions of the 101 Highway is a widely acknowledged problem that has, for many, seemed unapproachable if not unsolvable. But now there is a convenient way to tell regional planners and municipal leaders what you think are the issues and possible solutions.
UCSB is helping the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments to gather
public opinions and values on the 101 corridor through local meetings.
The SBCAG program is called 101 in Motion and has a Web site and questionnaire
at <www.101inmotion.com/images/docs/
101_goals_mission_feedback.pdf>.
Meetings are being planned this month on campus to elicit opinions from faculty, staff, and students, according to George Pernsteiner, vice chancellor, administrative services. If you wish to be alerted to when and where, call Debbie Kleinpeter at x8367.
Tabling activities also spread the word and one was held in front of the UCen last week. Another is planned for Thursday, May 13, from 3-6 p.m. at the Goleta Farmers Market in the Calle Real Shopping Center.
