Torture Subject of Plous Lecture
"Torture and the Future" is the title of the annual Plous Lecture, which will be delivered on May 3 at 4 p.m. in Corwin Pavilion by this year's honoree, Lisa Hajjar, associate professor of law and society.
She will discuss how torture is both illegitimate and common, and argue that "recent developments put fundamental principles of human rights at stake" in the so-called war on terror. The public lecture is free.
