Housing Discussion to Highlight Staff Week

Pottery Sale on April 30

A featured event of Staff Celebration Week 2004, which begins today at noon with Staff Assembly's free Ice Cream Social in the Cheadle Hall Courtyard, will be a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, April 29, to discuss staff housing issues.
The hour-long "brown bag" lunch meeting will begin at noon in the MultiCultural Center Theater. Moderated by George Pernsteiner, vice chancellor, administrative services, it is an opportunity to meet with a panel of community and campus representatives directly involved in finding solutions to the housing issues affecting many staff employees, according to organizers on the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Council (CSAC).
CSAC has collected some questions in advance for panel members. "As time permits during the Town Hall Meeting, audience members may have the opportunity to ask additional questions," the committee said.
Another highlight of the week, the Chancellor's Barbecue at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, has been moved to the Faculty Club lawn from the Rec Cen Courtyard this year. The barbecue, which will again be the backdrop to a pottery sale from the campus kiln and to the announcement of the Staff Citation of Excellence Awards, will feature tri-tip and vegetables in a change from its usual menu.
