  • Volunteers Sought for Family Weekend

Volunteers are needed for the Nov. 2-3 Parents and Family Weekend at UC Santa Barbara. They will help with check-ins on both days, tours, answer general questions at faculty lectures, and assist with the chancellor's free continental breakfast on Nov. 3, among other things, said Laurie Horton, of the Public Events Office.
Parents are expected to attend some classes with their students on Friday as well as events that evening ranging from men and women's soccer games to a writers' reading sponsored by the College of Creative Studies to an improvisational performance by the National Comedy Theatre.
Complete return addresses should be on all outgoing campus mail or the U.S. Postal Service may return it, warned Dan Manfredonia, mail services manager.
On Saturday, Nov. 3, the breakfast sponsored by Chancellor and Mrs. Yang is between 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Cheadle's back plaza near the pool. For a full list of the weekend's activities go to the UCSB Home Page www.ucsb.edu ; to reach Horton in public events, call x7382 or e-mail Laurie.Horton@ia.ucsb.edu .
