  • Book Signing Set for Historian Horne

Historian Gerald Horne, a visiting researcher with the UCSB Center for Black Studies and former chair of the Black Studies Department, will discuss and sign copies of three of his books on Thursday, May 31, at 4 p.m. in South Hall 4603.
The center invites the public to hear about "From the Barrel of a Gun," "Class Struggle in Hollywood 1930-1950," and "Race Woman: The Lives of Shirley Graham DuBois."
"All three books were launched while I was here," said Horne, who chaired black studies from 1988-95. He is currently on the history faculty at the University of North Carolina, and is researching a forthcoming book on the role of African Americans in the Mexican Revolution of 1910-20.
