    Feb.12 Events to Honor Women Athletes


     
     
    On Feb. 12 Donna Lopiano, executive director of the Women's Sports Foundation, speaks at 7 p.m. in Corwin Pavilion.
    Donna Lopiano, executive director of the Women's Sports Foundation and a member of the Softball Hall of Fame, will visit campus on Feb. 12 to keynote festivities surrounding UCSB's celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
    She will be hosted at a reception on Feb. 12 at 5:45 p.m. in Corwin Pavilion, which will cost $25 a person to attend. Reservations should be made immediately by calling x3778.
    Following the one-hour reception, Lopiano will give the annual Distinguished Women in Sports Lecture. It starts at 7 p.m. in Corwin and is free of charge.
    Though this year the official day was on Feb. 7, campus organizers moved the celebration and added a video screening on Feb. 13, and a salute to women athletes at the Feb. 14 women's basketball game.
